Dr. Sarah Williams

Dr. Williams leads Meridian School with a vision for innovative, student-centered education. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and has 25 years of experience in independent schools. Her educational philosophy emphasizes the importance of nurturing each student's unique talents while fostering a strong sense of community and social responsibility. Before joining Meridian five years ago, Dr. Williams served as Head of Upper School at a prestigious independent school on the East Coast, where she led curriculum innovation and implemented progressive teaching practices.

She has published numerous articles on educational leadership and is a frequent speaker at national conferences on topics ranging from differentiated instruction to school culture. Dr. Williams believes that great schools are built on three pillars: exceptional teaching, authentic relationships, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Under her leadership, Meridian has expanded its academic programs, strengthened its commitment to diversity and inclusion, and enhanced professional development opportunities for faculty. She has also prioritized student voice, creating structures for students to contribute meaningfully to school decision-making. Dr. Williams holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Yale University and a master's degree in Education from Harvard. She is known for her collaborative leadership style and her ability to inspire both students and adults to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, Dr. Williams enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her family.
