Charting Our Future

The 2025-2030 Strategic Vision

A Vision Born from Community

Our 2025-2030 Strategic Plan represents the collective aspirations of our entire community—students, families, educators, and partners. Developed through extensive input and thoughtful dialogue, this roadmap charts our commitment to purposeful, engaged learning experiences where students connect knowledge to real-world challenges and discover their capacity to make meaningful impact.

Four Strategic Priorities

Our roadmap is built on four interconnected priorities that guide our investments and actions through 2030.

Academic Excellence

Expanding STEM programs, enhancing literacy initiatives, and introducing innovative courses in data science, environmental policy, and digital media production. Building critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities across all grade levels.

Community Engagement

Strengthening family partnerships and deepening collaborations with Portland State University, OMSI, and local organizations. Creating authentic connections between classroom learning and community needs through service projects and mentorship programs.

Equity & Access

Removing barriers for diverse learners through comprehensive wraparound services, culturally responsive teaching practices, and expanded support systems. Ensuring every student has the resources and opportunities to thrive academically and personally.

Sustainable Operations

Strategic facility improvements and technology infrastructure upgrades that support modern learning environments. Investing in spaces and systems that enable innovative teaching while ensuring long-term operational sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Academic Excellence

We're expanding our STEM programming to include cutting-edge courses in data science, environmental policy, and digital media production. Our enhanced literacy initiatives span all grade levels, building strong foundations in reading, writing, and communication.

Through project-based learning and real-world problem solving, students develop the critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity that prepare them for college, career, and civic life. We're investing in teacher professional development, curriculum innovation, and learning resources that push the boundaries of traditional education.

Community Engagement

Education doesn't happen in isolation. We're strengthening partnerships with families, local universities, museums, and community organizations to create rich, authentic learning experiences that extend beyond our walls.

Our collaborations with Portland State University and OMSI bring real-world expertise into classrooms, while service-learning projects connect student learning to community needs. Through family engagement initiatives, we're building stronger home-school connections that support student success and create a vibrant learning community.

Implementation Timeline

Our strategic plan unfolds across five years with a total investment of approximately $1.8 million.

Year 1 (2025-2026): Foundation Building

Launch enhanced STEM curriculum, begin literacy program expansion, establish initial community partnerships, and conduct equity audit. Investment: $300,000 in curriculum development, teacher training, and program setup.

Year 2 (2026-2027): Program Expansion

Introduce data science and environmental policy courses, deepen university partnerships, implement wraparound services pilot, and begin facility planning. Investment: $400,000 in new programs, support services, and technology infrastructure.

Year 3 (2027-2028): Deepening Impact

Full implementation of digital media production program, scale successful interventions, launch major facility improvements, and expand family engagement initiatives. Investment: $500,000 in infrastructure, program scaling, and community partnerships.

Years 4-5 (2028-2030): Sustainability & Growth

Complete facility upgrades, achieve full program sustainability, evaluate and refine all initiatives, and begin planning for next strategic cycle. Investment: $600,000 in program refinement, evaluation, and long-term sustainability planning.

This strategic plan articulates not just what we'll do, but why we exist—and how we'll continue evolving to serve our students and community with excellence, equity, and purpose.
