Middle School

Developing Independence

Navigating Adolescence with Confidence

Meridian's Middle School program serves grades 6-8, focusing on three pillars: intellectual development, social-emotional growth, and cultivating student independence during adolescence.

Grade-Level Structure

  • 6th Grade: Transition focus with advisory programs and outdoor education. Students develop foundational study skills and begin taking ownership of their learning.
  • 7th Grade: Academic independence through increasingly complex coursework. Students participate in Science Olympiad, debate competitions, and collaborative research.
  • 8th Grade: Leadership development with capstone projects and peer mentoring. Students complete independent research projects and present their findings to the school community.

Project-Based Learning

Students collaborate on extended, authentic projects integrating multiple disciplines—such as local history research with public exhibitions or environmental partnerships studying watershed conservation.
