David leads fundraising efforts and cultivates relationships with donors who support Meridian's mission and programs. As Director of Advancement, he oversees all aspects of the school's development operation, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and special events. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, David has a proven track record of building donor relationships and inspiring philanthropic support. He joined Meridian six years ago and has since significantly increased the school's fundraising capacity.
Under his leadership, annual giving participation has grown to over 85%, and the school has completed a successful capital campaign that funded major facility improvements and expanded financial aid. David holds a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Virginia and has earned his CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation. He is passionate about connecting donors with programs and initiatives that align with their values. David believes that fundraising is ultimately about relationships and shared vision.
He takes time to understand each donor's motivations and interests, creating meaningful opportunities for engagement and impact. David has also strengthened Meridian's alumni relations program, reconnecting graduates with the school and building a culture of lifelong connection. He regularly hosts alumni events, publishes an alumni newsletter, and maintains an active social media presence. Outside of his advancement work, David serves on the board of a local arts organization and enjoys playing guitar, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his family.
